A BIT ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Jayme!
I've been in the fitness industry for over a decade now! My journey started when I was just 17 and stumbled upon my love for strength training. For more than 10 years I was a competitive swimmer but when I started strength training I fell in love with the positive impact it had on both my physical and mental well-being.

The benefits weren't just confined to my swimming; they spilled over into my everyday life. My self-confidence soared, and it taught me that with dedication and focus, I could conquer anything. After completing school, I took my passion further and pursued a degree in Exercise & Health Science at the Australian College of Physical Education. During my university days, I had the privilege of interning as a strength and conditioning coach, working closely with the talented semi-professional teams at the Warringah Rats Rugby Club.
I spent four years coaching and assisting football players, which was an incredible learning experience. Once I had my degree in hand, I had the chance to head up to Queensland for another exciting internship. This time, I got to work with the pro rugby players at the Queensland Reds Rugby Association. But then, the unexpected happened – COVID-19 struck, and I had to head back closer to home in Newcastle.
With lockdowns in full swing and no team sports to coach, I decided to take a bit of an unusual step – I pursued Certifications III & IV in Fitness online. I know, it might seem a bit peculiar considering my degree, but it was a crucial first step toward realizing my dream of having my own gym. Once I had those qualifications under my belt, I began working in a commercial gym, opening up a whole new world beyond the athletes I'd worked with previously. I found immense satisfaction in teaching people who were new to weightlifting how to do it safely and with the right technique. It was a chance to show them the incredible physical and mental benefits of strength training.

After about half a year in the commercial gym, I transitioned to a female-only gym, where I spent the next two years. It was an amazing experience to influence so many women's lives through strength training, watching them transform their self-perception and bodies. Eventually, it was time for me to take the leap and go out on my own, which brings me to where I am today.

Now, I proudly own my own gym and have expanded into online coaching. While I appreciate the power of digital connections, my real strength lies in face-to-face interactions, where I can provide the most personalized guidance to my clients.
I owe much of who I am today as a coach to my personal journey in strength training and the amazing mentors and coaches who've guided me along the way. To this day, I'm committed to my own fitness routine, hitting the weights 3-5 days a week, and I'm forever grateful for the incredible support I've received.
